TOWN OF SAMPSON CAUCUS

 A Caucus for the Town of Sampson was called to order by Chairman Butterfield at 1:00 P.M. on Saturday, January 17, 2009.  He reminded all eligible voters to sign the poll list.  Caucus Notices had been placed in the Bloomer Advance, the town web site and the three designated areas.  Thirty six electors signed the poll list.

Since Chairman Butterfield was going to run for office, he called for a Caucus Chairperson.  Jan Jerabek was nominated to chair the Caucus. Nominations were then closed.  Nominations for tellers were Bill Barten and Ken Reaves.  Nominations were then closed.

A Motion was made and seconded to take nominations for all offices from the floor.  Motion carried.

Nominations for Chairman were called for.  A Motion was made and seconded to nominate Joe Butterfield.  A Motion was made and seconded to nominate Chris Haller.  Jan Jerabek called for nominations three more times with no further responses.  A motion was made and seconded to close nominations for Chairman.      

Nominations for First Supervisor were called for.  A Motion was made and seconded to nominate Chuck Richardson.  A Motion was made and seconded to nominate Norm Gutsch.  Jan Jerabek called for nominations three more times with no further responses.  A motion was made and seconded to close nominations for First Supervisor.   

Nominations for Second Supervisor were called for.  A Motion was made and seconded to nominate Chris North. A Motion was made and seconded to nominate Rick Plummer.  Jan Jerabek called for nominations three more times with no further responses.  A motion was made and seconded to close nominations for 2nd Supervisor.

Nominations for Clerk/ Treasurer were called for.  A Motion was made and seconded to nominate Veda Reed. Jan Jerabek called for nominations three more times with no further responses.   A motion was made and seconded to close nominations for Clerk/Treasurer.  

Caucus adjourned at 1:20.  Immediately following the adjournment each candidate signed the Notice of Nomination at Caucus, Receipt of Notice of Nomination, EB-162-Declaration of Candidacy and EB-1-Campaign Registration Statement. 

Drawings were held for placement of names on the spring ballot for Chairman with Chris Haller drawn for number one placement for Chairman, Chuck Richardson drawn for number one placement for 1st Supervisor, and Chris North drawn for number one placement for 2nd Supervisor.
