Regular Board Meeting

     The regular Board meeting of the Town of Sampson was called to order on Monday, 2 February at 7:00 P.M. Meeting notices were posted in the three designated areas, the town web site and the Bloomer Advance. The meeting was called to order by Chairman Butterfield.  Supervisors Haller was present, Supervisor Gutsch was absent. Clerk Reed and Attorney Singleton were also present.  There were 5 guests in attendance.

     Chairman Butterfield led the meeting attendees in the Pledge of Allegiance.

     Board members have received copies of the board minutes of the regular board meeting on 5 January 2009.  A Motion was made by Supervisor Haller to approve the minutes.  Chairman Butterfield seconded the motion and all present voted Aye.  Motion carried.    

     Treasurer’s report was given by Clerk Reed and made available to Board members. 

     There was no public comment.

OLD BUSINESS:

     Discussion on debris alongside roadways was discussed.  Chairman Butterfield stated that he had spoke with some members of the Amish community about this.  Members of the Amish community were present to discuss the possibility of attaching “catch bags” on the buggies for horse debris. Amish Elder Yoder stated that he has not had an opportunity to talk with other Amish about this.  Chairman Butterfield explained what the fines were as listed in the State Statues.  He also stated that this debris can be dangerous when left on the road.  A picture of a “catch bag” was shown and the Amish will try to take this into consideration in the future.  Tabled until further information is received.

NEW BUSINESS:

     There was no new business on the agenda.         

    Vouchers were then presented and audited.  Supervisor Haller made a motion to approve vouchers 16407-16457 plus five electronic transfers. Chairman Butterfield seconded the motion and all present voted aye.  Motion carried.

    There being no further business, Supervisor Haller made a motion to adjourn the meeting. Chairman Butterfield seconded the motion and all present voted aye.  Motion carried.  Meeting adjourned at 7:35 P.M.
