TOWN OF
ORDINANCE #1-2002
An Ordinance relating to subdivisions and private
roadway systems.
WHEREAS, Wisconsin Statute section 236.20(4)(d) requires that each lot within a plat must have access to
a public street unless otherwise provided by local ordinance;
Whereas, the Town of Sampson currently has
no ordinances relating to private or public roadways within a section 236 state
subdivision plat;
WHEREAS, it is the intent of the Town Board
of the Town of Sampson to allow
for new subdivision lots which front only on private roads within section 236
state subdivision plat;
NOW, THEREFORE, the Town Board of the Town
of
Section I Ordinance #1-2002 is hereby
created to read as follows:
Private Roadway Systems
1. Each lot created within any subdivision
located in the Town of
public street either by private easement or a newly created public road.
2. The township has no responsibility to
accept any new private road for public maintenance as a township road.
Section II This ordinance shall take effect
upon passage and posting as required by law.
